Welcome to Hypopressive.uk.  Hypopressive is a form of physical therapy that has numerous physical benefits, these include:
improved pelvic floor function
treatment of prolapse
treatment of incontinence
restoring abdominal tone (particularly following pregnancy)
improving posture
improved patterns of breathing
increased respiratory efficiency
increased core strength and function
increase in sexual function.
These benefits extend to men, women, mums of all ages, athletes, gym users and anyone who wants to improve their postures and figure.  Based in Cardiff, Hypopressive instructor Joe Timmins provides one to one instruction of the method and offers a variety of packages to teach each client how to fully understand and effectively perform the hypopressive routine.

The truth is, by accident!  I came across the Hypopressive Instructors Course while looking for something totally unrelated.  But, intrigued I found out a little more and became sufficiently interested to decided to enrol and see what it had to offer.  As my background is in physical training and rehabilitation it sounded like a course that I could benefit from and I wasn't wrong!

It became quickly apparent from the course content that this was something that had its roots in medical practice and, as a therapist with a lot of experience, I found it fascinating.  I think a lot of other people on the course were quite taken aback with the level of in depth physiology and anatomy that the course covered.  But for me, it was perfect.  The detail of the course and the fact that it was based on medical study and research was exactly what I was after.  I must have bombarded the course tutor with a hundred questions over lunch!

Once I had completed the course and started to practice the method (I decided to test in on myself rather than just accepting what I was told).  I was excited to find that the results that the course promised were indeed all true - from my own limited requirements it has to be said!  There was a difference in my posture, breathing during running and strength during resistance exercises.  Happy that the method worked I did two things, start to approach some of my clients who I though could benefit and then book onto the advanced instructors course.  And that was the start...
